Pete, No my wife is coming along, and since we have four days to get there, we only have to make about 400 miles a day. Were going to poke along. If anybody has any suggestions of things to take in along our route please let me know.
If you go South out of Yellowstone should get a great view of Grand Teton NP. Of course its great to go to if you have time, but you looks like you have a lot of driving to do.
By the way, for anyone with extra time in Boulder, and a car you are are only an hour from Rocky Mountain National Park. but if you go on Labor day weekend, I would go early, could be big crowds at entry and parking if you don't arrive early. If you don't go there, plenty of good hiking and scenery elsewhere in the area.
By they way, I may be have shortest travel time. About 4 miles (15 minutes by bike).

We're leaving Butte Montana this morning, and I think we'll follow your advice and see the Grand Teton's.
We went through the Clearwater National Forest yesterday. WoW.
Still a ways to go. -
Now in Cincinnati Airport and its 7:40pm
There is not a single shop or anything of that sort they are all closed and dont open till the morning. Ill have to have 2 meals from vending machines, ben and jerrys ice cream and a packet of cheeotoes!
Flight isnt until 3:30pm tomorrow cant wait to be able to check in at 9 in the morning and get a decent meal!! I expected better form an international airport oh well!
This is dedication to basecamp if I ever knew it, 2012 im not leaving it so last minute to book my ticket and getting a better connection than 22 hours
By then I wont be a student hopefully and a successful artist with more money in my wallet set aside for hotels lol Its almost $100 for a hotel airport hence the sleeping on a chair in baggage! -
We just got home about an hour ago. Long drive across Nebraska and Iowa but nothing to compare with those long flights some of you have. Although I wish were still at basecamp, I am glad to be back.
-
I would rather be anywhere but here right now
-
You should've stayed with us here in Boulder, Liam!
Yet another party occasion tonight (although I believe everyone who is still here will be tired...)I am only leaving tomorrow evening just to travel a whole day back home...
- Arrival at home some time 9 p.m. Monday night.
- Birthday (party ) on Tuesday...
- Bachelor party (I know, another one ) on Wednesday night.
- Two days to get back into shape...
- Wedding on Saturday.
-
haha dont make me jealous I would love a beer right now, yeah another bachelor party lucky you! Good luck on your wedding!
-
I feel for you Liam. Sorry to hear of your layover troubles. I arrived in Huntsville this afternoon to a happy wife and daughter. Unfortunately my wife is sick so I am superdad for the rest of the weekend. Luckily I brought the weather with me. It was nice and breezy and only 80 degrees F and not too humid.
-
Nice to know you arrived safely.
-
Thanks. Oh and I forgot to mention, the beard is gone now
-
Gee, my beard is just starting. Well, I was too lazy to shave this morning before leaving the middle of Nebraska.
-
Haha.
I needed to shave befor BC just to resemble what's in my passport (and visa) but I won't shave until n ext Friday (or Saturday )
Then the family terror will make me shave anyway.
-
Arrived back in OZ about 2 hours ago. Only 27 hours this time back the other way. Traveled a total of 18,390 miles, still haven't had a full night sleep since leaving for Basecamp but what the hell!!! I had a great time.
Thanks guys for making the trip what it was.
'Googlers': thank you for your hospitality, it couldn't be faulted
'Ucationers': Thanks for the memories. So cool to finally meet face to face people I felt I've known for quite some years. Many laughs beers [gins] and headaches.... -
Home...... It's raining
-

-
I arrived home last night at about 9:30 (after roughly a whole day of travelling).
