Modelling a hull (ship)
-
hi, i am trying to modell a inland water vessel (river barge) for my father.
i uses sketchup for years mostly for architectural modells. but the hull of the ship, especially the back of the ship
has a complex amorph phorm. in this forum i found many plugins for modelling a amorph geometry like "extrude edges by rails",
and bezier splines. With this plugins i created the front of the barge. and it looks quiet good i think, but the back looks not like it
should. perhaps anybody has an idea for a better result or a tip. that would be great...greetings from berlin, sebastian

I have been working on a sailboat lately and have found curviloft to work very well.

I too am having trouble except mine is with the bow of the boat.
Also you could do a search for hull. I have read a few threads on making of hulls.
