[WIP] Bugatti Brescia Type 13

sigh
Beautiful. Just beautiful.
-
Dang these are looking great.
-
Trying out 'Shadow Catcher' and DOF with Thea. Really not happy with strength of the shadow or the tyre material so any feedback or pointers are really appreciated.
-
Tried using the contrast in Thea?
-
Yep, this was given PS treatment with exposure, levels etc. Follow your vimeo exactly. Would the fact that my ibl is a jpg matter? These are only tests so I can get to grips with Thea.

Using jpg in illumination channel certainly can have a negative effect, better stay in full range HDR. Best option is to use a low resolution HDR in illumination channel (Image Based Lighting), very high resolution LRD in Background mapping and medium to high resolution HDR in Reflection/Refraction mapping. Maps just like you can find in sIBL.

Still fine tuning the materials and looking for a better/suitable HDR. It's true, thea is Addictive
-
Wow!
Er, I just noticed. The fenders aren't actually attached to anything, are they? Unless I'm missing something?
-
Good spot. I have modelled some but didn't like them. The fenders at the moment are too low poly so they're getting bombed too! Eventually it'll be done
-
Very nice car render!
-
Rich is using 'sky hooks' to fixed the fenders or mudguards as we call then over here

Can't tell about the fenders in the posted pictures. They look really good.
Looking forward to the finished model. Everything looks great even now.

Really like the B&W image.
-
Those look great Rich. However the cropping is a bit uncomfortable, if you could add just a bit of space above the car I think it would add so much.
-
Very nice work, Rich.
20 years or so ago a late friend and his brother built a Type 35 from scratch. It had the tapered boat tail body. The American Bugatti Club said it was so accurately built, they said it could wear the Bugatti badge. It was sold to a guy in Arizona and I don't know what's become of it.
-
Messing with a different HDRI and paint type. I'm really not feeling the the default 'Old Tyre' material in Thea.
Cockpit also under construction, so if anyone has a link to some nice old fashioned dial textures it would be appreciated.
-
For me doesn t look right at all..although looks pretty nice it s yelling for some proper mechanics ..
-
I know but sourcing closeups is proving difficult but thanks for that pic
Haven't even started to detail the suspension yet
-
Keep it up. This is great work. I like the B&W image above as well.
