Can Someone please help with this simple problem

Rather than explain by typing, here is a video of what is happening
Super frusterating

While in SketchUp go to Window/Preferences/OpenGl and check Use hardware acceleration ,click Ok and it should work.
If u have it checked already then it may be because of ur recently updated video card driver,or maybe because ur big texture u use in the model.
Or other!Hope it helps!

I hit the zoom extents button and could make it around, but when I zoom in it does goes back to clipping out.

Perhaps your model is located below ground. To to windows > styles > edit, select the middle icon, and uncheck ground. If that fixes the problem, the model is below ground.

I think your problem is the terrain size that the gas station sits on. SU has issues with really large terrain. Have you tried hiding the terrain then orbiting the model?

What kind of graphics card do you have? Is it intel based? Intel is notorious for not being that great for 3d softwares.

It also looks like some serious clipping:

It can have several reasons (beside OpenGL issues with your video card).
