Saving to .csv with generate report, cuttinglist 4
-
I have been trying out SU7 Pro with a 8hour licence before I think about buying it. For some reason I cannot find .csv files from generate report for cutting lists. Maybe they haven't been created as when I am at the save window there are no filetypes shown... The same happens with cuttinglist plugin when I try to create a csv file... Bloody frustrating and is a reason why I am considering not buying SU7. I use Windows Vista. Can anybody help me with this matter.
Looking forward to any help

I don't actually use CutList but I know that its output .csv files etc go into the same folder as the model and are named after the model.skp - e.g. ../modelfolder/model_CutList.csv
Presumably you have Vista admin rights etc and are allowed to save to the model's folder.
Have you checked for 'compatibility-files' reported by Vista in the model's folder ?
You are working on a saved model ? If not the files shouldn't get made at all and you get an error dialog...
This all looks like Vista problem rather than a Sketchup or Plugin problem...
Do you get a message saying where it's saved to - you should ?
What error messages do you get if any...
You can still use the Pro version of 7 when it reverts to Free after 8 hours - nad I'm sure this plugin works on either version ? -
I just installed a service pack for Vista and now the generate report with Pro works, but the cuttinglist file which is supposed to be created vanishes into thin air!!!
I do a search for all csv files on the hard dik and none appear which have been created by the cuttinglist plugin.
One step closer but if you know of any bugs with cuttinglist....

Have you read this http://www.hanselman.com/blog/VistasShowCompatibilityFilesAndTheScrumptiousWonderThatIsFileVirtualization.aspx about compatibility files in Vista - it's a bummer !
