Invisible face that blocks light?
-
I'm working on some interlinked rooms and their daylight analysis. this is complicated since i need to hide faces to look into the actual room, but this gives a false light experience since the missing faces slips in much light. is it possible to create a invisible face so i can look into the room and see the actual daylight? (i export the scenes to maxwell render to get the final lighting results)

Not sure how Maxwell works, but when I use V-Ray fro Sketchup I can assign a 100% transparent material on one side and a solid on the other. You can then see through the transparent face, but no the other way around. And the light does not pass through.

In Native SU I would recommend a simple, "dummy" material which is nothing but a 100% transparent png file as alpha transparency is not recognised by the SU shadow engine and although you can see through 100%, the sun can never shine through that face.
But as TT said, in your case everything depends on how Maxwell itself would handle these solutions.
