I'm working on some interlinked rooms and their daylight analysis. this is complicated since i need to hide faces to look into the actual room, but this gives a false light experience since the missing faces slips in much light. is it possible to create a invisible face so i can look into the room and see the actual daylight? 👊 (i export the scenes to maxwell render to get the final lighting results)

Not sure how Maxwell works, but when I use V-Ray fro Sketchup I can assign a 100% transparent material on one side and a solid on the other. You can then see through the transparent face, but no the other way around. And the light does not pass through.

In Native SU I would recommend a simple, "dummy" material which is nothing but a 100% transparent png file as alpha transparency is not recognised by the SU shadow engine and although you can see through 100%, the sun can never shine through that face.

But as TT said, in your case everything depends on how Maxwell itself would handle these solutions.

when you fail at something....you haven't really failed...you've found one way the thing will not work out
