I received a sketchup file that has the existing grade with the Google map applied to it.

I want to know what's the best file format and setting to export the grade into Revit.

What I want to do is have the calculation of the volume of grade that's going to be excavacated for the new building.

      Thanks in advance.

'Revit' will take in all manner of data formats - including SKP...

Note that you can calculate volumes inside Sketchup by using one of the the 'Volume' plugins - I'd recommend the earlier one [v1.8], which is a lot slower but more robust when used in this type of situation... Here's an old tutorial on doing 'cut+fill' calculations using it...Cut+Fill.skp

          Thanks for the tutorial.
I still don't quite understand how this works. How do you cut the hole of the terrain with the footprint of the building.

Where can you get the "volume" plugin?

The 'hole/banking' was done using the Sandbox Tool > Stamp with an offset for the sloping parts.
Volume is readily found doing a forum Search [advanced with Author = TIG] returns several... many are for the v2 - v1.8 is here http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=3048&p=14555&hilit=Volume#p14555

Is there a way I can email you the file and have you take a look at it?
I can't upload the file in here because it's a 10mb file, thanks.

              My email is:

              Thanks once again.

I've removed the @ from your email address as a 'bot' might harvest it and you won't want any more spam πŸ˜’
Try it yourself first - work on a simplified form first so you understand what's going on - I'm bogged down with work this week - sorry...
You could try importing the SKP into Revit too... but there's a Revit forum for that πŸ˜•

No problem. I'll give it a try.
Do you have this tutorial in a screencast or something that's video based?
