      Hello,

I have a model that I created a component into. In my new model I would like to use that same component. It's an intricate piece and would take some time to re-create. Is there a way to copy/paste or save just that component?

      Thanks, Tye.

You can have two instances of Sketchup running at the same time, then copy/paste between them. You can also Right click > Save As and save the component to your local drive, then import it into another model.

Or, open Window > Component > select model icon > select component, right click and "save as". I use a folder in the default SU components folder for my stuff. Thereafter it will be selectable anytime you need it.

Both options worked great. Much time saved and appreciated.

            Thanks, Tye.

You can even save ALL of the Components in the Model into an external folder as a 'Collection' of SKP files - see the right-side pop-out menu, in the Component Browser > Model tab ...
