Free upgrade to the latest version....
-
Yes - my 1.48.66 is working. The upgrade is free. But there are some people that experience issues that prevent rendering from happening.
Check the Ruby Console for errors (open it before you hit render) And check the VfSU error log. (There's a sticky at ASGVis where you can find it.)Btw, did you uninstall the old one before installing the new one? The new one won't automatically uninstall the previous version and will cause conflict.

no... i didn't as far as i remember because when i uninstalled the newer version i didn't have to install the previous version....the previous version automatically came back.....I guess that's how the upgrade is going to work...Did you uninstall the previous version before installing the new version??
If we want to upgrade from xp to vista we don't have to uninstall xp do we?? we just straightaway install windows vista....all our data and settings remains safe....that's why i didn't uninstall the previous version...

The latest version of VfSU requires you to uninstall the previous. Other software might not require you to do so, but this version of VfSU does.

so it automatically detects that we want to upgrade or does it asks for a license file??

Uninstall the old
Install the new
It should detect your old license as that is not uninstalled. -

eh....that's the license doesn't uninstall yeah???
-
Yes.
When you uninstall V-Ray the license is not uninstalled. So when you install V-Ray again (no matter what version) it should detect your old license. -
I've never manually uninstalled any version to update. The installer has done the uninstall for me and I've had no problems.
-
I think previous versions uninstalled older versions automatically. But with 1.48.66 that changed. I think they changed installer - and it does not detect older versions. And having both installed will cause conflict.
With the new version you should have only vfs.rb in you SU plugins folder. Any other V-Ray references means you have remains of the old and will cause conflicts.

This is what I get.....
-
whut whut? hm... maybe they changed the installer...
well, I stand corrected.
But if you do experience problems, do check that the previous was uninstalled. there has been some cases at ASGVis forum where people had problems because the old was not uninstalled. -
hmm... was that 1.05.30 that was detected, or was it an older beta?
-
i'd like to post something here that i forgot... the installation gives a message that the setup itself has to abort as it's causing conflict with the setup itself!!! like... often while installing programs the setup asks us to close internet explorer, firefox, etc... this setup was really different .. i mean it was asking to terminate itself!!! !
-
I'd say that is one you should let ASGVis know. -
alrighty.....i uninstalled the previous vray version. the installation of 1.48.66 went smooth....but vray did not detect my existing license and is still asking for one.....if i load the old license it doesn't detect it.... please help
-
Not sure why that is.
-
Re-entering your license info should work though. If that doesn't work you need to ask ASGVis.
