Offbeat question: Reflection Path Trace (Ray Trace)
-
This is not a question about ray-tracing in the context of making renderings of a model.
I find myself unable to locate or come up with a quick and efficient way of finding ray reflection paths in sketchup. What I want to be able to do is choose a point (start a line perhaps), choose a second point on a plane, and see the specular reflection path of the line I have defined (angle of incidence = angle of reflection). An example of my intended usage would be something like click a point 5' above the stage in my opera house model, click an angled ceiling reflector, see where the reflection would land in the balcony. Obviously this is for acoustics analysis (I have much more sophisticated tools for performing full geometric modeling calculations), but such a simple capability would be awesome for tweaking reflector angles in the design process. After much searching I cannot find a plugin with this capability or come up with any clever ways of accomplishing it quickly and on-the-fly. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

Here is 'raytrace' as requested... http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?p=235227#p235227

Damned that is crazzy task !
Can you adapt this for a French billiard? (3 cushions or more)[flash=480,385:1s96v8fy]http://www.youtube.com/v/kDlpVkV8Wis&hl[/flash:1s96v8fy]

Use it as you will !

Here's v1.1 http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?p=235227#p235227
It now has
RayTrace
ANDRaySpray
RayTrace traces the picked ray from a start and incident point - it then allows 'bounces' to be made if there is a 'hit'...
RaySpray sprays rays out from a picked point, constrained in X/Y/Z-panes or full 3D with a desired angle of separation; there is only one reflection - no 'bounces', but RayTrace can be used over an earlier sprayed ray to 'bounce' individual ray-paths more if required...
All guide-lines/points are now grouped...
