Finding area and linear lengths
-
All,
Re: Sketch 7.1Is there a way to find the area of a surface?
And is there a way to find the linear dimension of a line, or several lines?
Above use to determine sq footage for walls, floor, etc., and lineal feet for trim, moulding to cost out project.
Thx
Larry

Hi Larry, select your line (or lines) or your surface (or surfaces) then right click-->entity info.

You can have the surface area of all the faces with the same material - just select a surface and right click - Area

You can compute the estimate too

Dedmin, I think that the "cost" tool comes with a plugin, no?

Ok, thanks, didn't know about that. I have that extension disabled.

Hi Larry, hi folks.
In supplement, the Text Tool will default to these informations:
-
line: length.
-
face: area.
-
endpoint: coordinates in the form X,Y,Z.
One trick: you can switch units between use. For example, if you use the Text Tool on a face, you will get the area in square feet. Then, switch to meters and you can add another text entity with the surface in square meters.
Just ideas.
