ATi Displays Control Panel for MacOS X -- Wh'appen?
-
I just installed a Radeon 3870 to replace the GeForce 7300 that I was using after my X1900 died.
Now, the ATi Displays control panel reports 'Unknown ATi Graphics', and I can't access all the nice antialiasing features. And I can't see anything on the ATi website about an update...does anyone know if it's still available?
My SketchUp models look like crap.

I downloaded a load of Ati driver stuff from apple in November, the drivers are all special builds for card machine combination, are can't find the link, but I'll keep looking.
Alternatively post your exact spec and if any one has the same setup they could copy you the driver, although they might work I found they aren't always backwardly compatible
the smc version number makes a difference
apple weren't helpful

Thanks, john, but this isn't a driver issue...
I'm talking about the control panel that lets you set antialiasing and texture filtering for SketchUp and the like.
ATi's site is shit. They only list drivers for up to 10.4.x..

I haven't ever myself but I think you can use these to optimize..

is the 3870 even supported?
i had to replace my 7300 a little while ago and that wasn't an option then.. ended up getting an 8800gt that's been great so far..what's it say for graphics/displays in System Profiler?

Driven, Jeff --
Apparently, AMD stopped development when they bought ATi. Obviously because Apple's in bed with intel.
I will never buy an ATi card again. Fuck 'em.
Driven -- thanks for reminding me. I remember something about using that with nVidia cards...

Jeff --
Here's the System Profiler output. AFAIK, the 3870 has always been supported...

Hi Tim,
Long time no see!
As for ATI (or any other card) compatibility and OpenGL versions, here is a chart from Apple - unfortunately I cannot see OS X 10.5.5 nor this card mentioned there at all:

Szevasz, Gaieus! Hogy vagy?
I actually found this article:
http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20060806215733256
About forcing FSAA, so it may be possible... I have to install the developer tools first... if anyone else can give it a shot, I'd be interested to hear your results...

Köszönöm jól! Remélem, te is!
Okay, back to the video card - I hope you succeed as I am on a PC so my knowledge has stopped at knowing about that chart...
