      Hi there,

When loading a component into a drawing, I am trying to utilise the blue (vertical) inference so I can snap the component to the ground. Unfortunately, for some reason, it doesn't work, I can snap to red and green but not blue?

      Am I doing somethign wrong?!

      Thanks.

        Hi Lee,

Now this is weird. How are you doing it?
What if you grab the component at some of its endpoints or edges at the bottom, press the up or down arrow on your keyboard and try that way? Does that work?

Components can have their 'gluing' abilities set to None, or Any, Vertical, Horizontal and Sloping faces - perhaps the Component in question is like a Door and is set to 'glue' only on to vertical faces, like walls [Red/Green but not Blue axis].
To fix it is quite easy.
Open the Component Browser and select the Model tab [small-house icon] and then highlight the Component in question.
          Select the Edit tab.
Under the 'Glue to:' list change it's setting to suit - perhaps to 'Any' in your case, as you want it to 'glue' to any face ?
You can also change whether or not it Cuts holes etc in this Editor...
          Hope this helps β˜€

Yes, this is a good idea - maybe that's the problem.
You can also right click > Unglue if this is the case.

Thanks ever so much guys, it was indeed the 'gluing' issue, thanks again, I really appreciate it, it was getting extremely frustrating!

              Thanks. πŸ˜„

P.s. TIG, where in Northumberland are you from? I love it up there, my favourite place in the UK.

Sometimes it is indeed frustrating because you don't even need to deliberately set this feature in certain cases. What's more, groups can also be glued. Try this:

                1. draw a flat face on any of the planes
now draw a shape (like a rectangle) in the mioddle of it
                2. double click on the rectangle and make a group/component
                3. edit it to make it more "complex" or whatever (say PushPull it to a box)
                4. exit and now try to move it off the face - say upwards if it is a horizontal face. It is glued so you cannot.
So sometimes, during modelling maybe the simplest things, you can get frustrated if you do not remember to unglue it.

This issue was driving me crazy! Thanks for the tip... 5 years ago!
For Italian users, the "unglue" option in the popup menu is named "scollega".

The more complex procedure described here is translated into italian below:
"Open the Component Browser and select the Model tab [small-house icon] and then highlight the Component in question.
                  Select the Edit tab.
Under the 'Glue to:' list change it's setting to suit - perhaps to 'Any' in your case, as you want it to 'glue' to any face ?"

                  Menu Finestra --> Componenti
