OK I decided to make a car using my own blue-prints, and I did pretty good for my first time. I just want to post it here to let "Pros" look at it and help me do better. But really the prints got scanned in wrong so I can't believe it turned out OK!
Feel free to edit my model! BUT DON'T CLAIM IT AS YOUR OWN!

Heh, nice! I haven't even worked up the fortitude to try making a car yet. Only comment I can make is a little less "effect" on your top picture, it obscures the car a bit too much and you lose the shape of it due to the low contrast of the colors used.

I am not a pro at all, but my humble advice is just to spend a lot more time modeling details, tons of them missing in this car.
These forums are full of great car models to look at, some showing the underlying geometry, too.
          Go for it!

I know that 'the car' is perhaps a version of your actual skp, BUT you should have lots of scenes set like elevations and plans without perspective, and 3D views too. Also the style is not conducive to easy working...

Otherwise as has been said - detail and consider things in the real world - seams, joins, handles, terrible blind-spot with door-pillar etc...
            Keep working, you'll get there...

                Hi KXI system

You shouldn't give up on this. Modeling a car it's really hard work and will really push your knowledge and how to use them, mostly because you're modeling a detailed curved object respecting their DIMENSIONS ACURRATLY. After sucefully taking somthing like that you can probably tackle easily other 3D models.

See if this tips can help (thre's tips in page 2 also):

                http://www.pushpullbar.com/forums/sketchup/5844-tips-tricks-car-organic-modeling.html

And this was the original post that made me do the above tutorial:

                http://www.pushpullbar.com/forums/hypothetical-projects/5800-car-design-contest.html

They're a bit old but nothing change much and it's even easier now with all the great plugins. If you need any help just ask.

                David
