      Hello,
I'm new to sketchup and intend to use SU for some landscape design purpose. Bought David Tal's new book and searched around the forum regarding such subjects like terrain,
but haven't found a solution to that specific subject.
My idea is to use SU for a small watercourse visualization. There is not much real terrain involved because at the end I want to create a camera view from the eye-level
perspective. I could import the route of the water course as a line or - perhaps simpler - draw it within SU on top of a rectangular "terrain block".
But how I create the effect, that the watercourse (the typical small watercourse has trapezoidal cross cut profile) is carved into the "terrain" with embankments on both
      sides ?
      Any ideas are welcome.
      Olaf

Draw 'stream' as a flat 2d 'ribbon'.
Use SUp's Sandbox-Tools, to 'Stamp' it, with a suitable offset dimension, and it will make a cutting with embankments] onto any terrain you select...
There are already several tutorials out there on how to do this - usually relating the roads - but if anything yours is perhaps simpler since water is often 'flat' ?
