Veiwport size change

Quick question
By moving tool bars around in SU you altar the shape of the veiwport. Does this effect when you render. Because I have a problem model which keeps crashing when rendering it. So I have cut the model in two, rendered seperatly then join the two renders in PS. But they dont line up!!!!!!!!!!!! The only thing I can think of is that I may have moved a tool bar in SU.
