Exporting from Sketchup
-
hello, I am trying to export a 3D file from Sketchup 7 into chief architect 9.5
but am having trouble finding out how to go about doing that.... -
Depending of what formats is accepted by this prog?
And if you have a free or Pro version of SU -
I am using the free versions of Sketchup..
chief architect supports both .dwg and .dxf file types.. -
Hi Matthew, with SU free you can't export in those formats. Only with Pro version it's possible both in 2D and 3D.
-
The exporters are available for a limited time.

ahhh yes ive just found that out..
is there a way to convert a .skp file to a .dwg maybe?
or a plug-in of some sort? -
Hmmm, aren't them importers and not exporters, Jim?
-
does that plugin both import AND export?
(i see someone already asked)
-
huh? what? I guess it is.
But I thought there was a dxf exporter free somewhere...
Here is one: http://www.guitar-list.com/download-software/convert-sketchup-skp-files-dxf-or-stl

Use the free Double CAd XT as go-between who allows you to load SKP files and export DWG or DXF (some versions so choose the year of your prog)
Does it not marvelous? -
i think the doubleCad will work.................just as soon as i figure out how to use it
thanks everyone for the feedback.
