Uv map import
-
hey guys, I would like to import an object modeled in modo included an uv map into sketchup.
What format + settings should I use so sketchup imports the uv map aswell.
I did some research on the web and I found this workflow:in Modo, export to "Autodesk FBX" format (modo can't export to 3ds).
in the Autodesk FBX converter, convert FBX to 3ds.
import into SU.I tried it but I can't get the uv map in SU.
anyone who can help me with this?cheers

I also read exporting as OBJ doesn't work with uv map?

problem solved... Michalis was so kind to explain to maybe.
I was a bit wrong about OBJ not supporting uv maps.I'll explain the workflow quickly here for people who are intrested: - unwrap your object in Modo.
- make an texture in gimp/photoshop.
- apply it in modo.
- export to OBJ.
- import in blender.
- export as 3ds in a different folder with the texture in the same map. Remember 3ds files can only contain 3-5 letters.
- import into SU
