If I'm not mistaken CraigD was recruiting in the past.

Go Here:

This will take you through the process.

That was a "campaign" for the US only (and for one year). Back then, I remember, many European members were interested as well but then Google never came back to the issue.
Rich; read the "basics" under the link Dan posted. More or less that's about it.
- you first need to take a "test" if you are proficient enough at SU / GE
- then pay $5,000 (and a recurring $2,500 yearly afterwards) in order to use "the badge"
- they provide you with the material you have to teach
- you can add your own material however (but only "add" and not teach that instead of the above).
-
I'm not interested in doing formal training, but maybe in some type of "support" certificate.
-
They don't have any other "plan" however nothing stops you from do trainings as it cannot be forbidden. What you cannot do then;
- use their "Certified Trainer" badge (or whatever)
- release "diplomas" about their courses
which are actually accredited as courses by AIA (this doesn't really count in Europe)

Jim, please explain a little more about what you have in mind. I might have something in mind that would suit you. PM if you like.

From some information I have obtained this may not be the case Csaba as AIA recognition has a standing here in the EU.

Well, maybe at some places and especially not necessarily as far as accrediting courses go. I'd be the happiest however if this could be made institutional.

Recently Google announced that you can get certifications in other softwares and apps they provide (more on the technical, programming side). It would be cool if they offered SketchUp Ruby certification. And SketchUp certified modeler. And certified G.E. content provider, etc.
I'd like to add those titles to my signature.

I'd remove the "suwiki" tag for a "SU certified Ruby programmer" tag
-
OK, go for it.
But how about an SCF Certified whatever badge? -
ooh, go on. You have my attention

Remus, were you drinking already?
'Ceritified'?
Only kidding, an SCF Certified Drinking Badge would open lots of doors
-
That sounds (or tastes?) even better. "beer taster - bee tester")
-
Geezzz...never thought that being a certified trainer is really that expensive..
-
Hussel,
It looks like the $5,000 is for a training center, but I'm not sure how one goes about becoming an instructor at one of those centers. It also says "Classes must be held in a company-managed training facilities." - which is kind of a bummer as I was hoping to get a certification and then lead my own classes from a laptop...
I'll be digging around for more information on this and I'll let you all know if I find anything.
-
You might want to wait now and see what Trimble does about certification or if they will even have certified trainers.
-
An old topic, but it seems that there are some updates...
(Perhaps someone in the list of trainers can explain some details?) -
It's like that for awhile.
Since launch, with only a few heads added.
