It's embarrassing to be shown up by a six year old!

Pictured: Incredible watercolour paintings by boy aged just SIX

Kieron Williamson's attempts are so beautifully rendered that artists ten times his age will be filled with envy.

I don't want to take away from his talent, it is perfect, but this is not extraordinary. There are many people that can do similar pictures at early ages. This is just a statistics matter. I draw a portrait of my grandmother when I was just 3 years old, it was my first drawing and my father still have it and she is completely recognizable, even gestures. I think I have one portrait here from my 8 years old, let me see... yes, here it is:

              Coronel,

Simply because you personally have talent at an early age, doesn't make it ordinary. I will agree that many children un-learn art in school or because their environment doesn't support it. You can see in many children, for example, a natural ability to draw an expressive line, which could be lost later.

              Tina,

No harm trying to learn, but innate talent like that is, well... innate. Not your fault.

I was always very humble about my ability. In fact, the difference between a highly-gifted person a normal one is just the age, the early ability. It doesn't means that they will progress much more after that. Probably I was the better when I was at school, but it was another pupil who was very good too and when I went to some competition I discovered that there were many children like us. That teach me to be humble and to accept that I will find many people now better than me. ๐Ÿ˜‰

The most interesting thing about young artists is the innocent vision they have and the sensibility they reflect. To put an example you can find what I am saying in the paleolithic pictures of Lascaux (France) or Altamira (Spain), and that will help to understand the mediterranean influence in Picasso and the permanent searching of the essence in art.
