Fish Pie

I just finished reading "The Northern Clemency" which is about Sheffield, and I was inspired by several pages where they described making and eating Fish Pie. This is apparently more popular in England then in the Midwest U.S.
I am serving one at a dinner party tomorrow - you are all invited - using a recipe by James Oliver: [edit: Jamie Oliver. (Sorry)]

it’s a homely hearty thing. Place in the oven for about 25 to 30 minutes until the potatoes are golden. Serve with some nice peas or greens, not forgetting the baked beans and tomato ketchup. Tacky but tasty, and that’s what I like.
What do you do with the Ketchup?
This reminds me of my last trip to Montreal where I had breakfast at one of the hotels. The waiter asked if I wanted ketchup with my fried eggs and hash browns. I think he was taken aback when I said yes. This probably intensified his already negative opinion of me as an American, and he probably didn't know what I would do with the Ketchup.

I had a very similar one of those on Monday gone ! Yum !
I don't use [tomato] ketchup with it, but my son likes to put it all over the top of the crust [as he does with almost everything else] before he tucks in... I also added some prawns into the fish mix [you can also add scallops, smoked-fish, shredded-leeks, chopped-spring-onions, fresh-peas etc - it's a very versatile dish]... I also prefer to serve it with peas rather than beans... Otherwise - it's exactly the same as yours !
PS: It's Jamie Oliver - a British institution...

The ketchup goes in the baked beans, I would guess.

Great recipe ... -
Oh wow; when I saw "fish pie" it made me think of that rubbery-fishy flavored stuff you get in some Thai or Vietnamese restaurants.
That looks sooo much tastier...

But if I serve it with peas instead of beans, people will laugh about the Ketchup.
(We often pour ketchup on baked beans, but I have never had it on a meat pie. - Of course, the only meat pies we ever eat are chicken pot pies.)

I love fish pies! Have tried that very receipe myself. Although it was a disaster. I have no culinary talents...
