Hey all...first project. I am creating a 3D model of an historic building near where I live. I had the local blueprint shop make a copy of the ground-floor floor plans. I cut up the copy to scan on my 81/2"x11" scanner. When scanned and cleaned up in Photoshop, the imports into SU don't match in size. I have to scale them individually to make lines match. Appreciate any suggestions.

        Welcome!

Have you tried importing the images onto a standard size face?

Make an 8/1/2 x 11 surface, then import your picture and when you import stretch it right to the edge.

Repeat for all pages, then scale all at once.

        Others here may have ideas.

        good luck on your drawing

            MM..
Great suggestion, all imported scans now seem to line up correctly. Great work on your blog. Brewery and Beetle...awesome.

As well as the earlier helpful suggestions, can I suggest you look at my tutorial http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?p=158602#p158602 that covers how to make spiralling stair from a scanned image. It might have some bearing on your methods for the building in question... If you model the building parts in separate groups you can always scale a group to match another later on. Groups of groups can also be scaled to suit as you go along too...
All you need is one known dimension.

                👍

Glad you got it working. Old buildings are fun to draw although all the odd angles that make them look "old" can be tricky.

                  TIG,
Great tutorial. Walking through it helps eliminate having to ask some of the more basic questions.
                  Thanks,
