I would like to add this to the wishlist (hope this isnt a repeat as Im new to forum)...

File>Export Image> OPTION TO INCLUDE WHICH SCENES TO RENDER OUT!!! β˜€

This would save so much time!

You can do that now already. Set up scene animation preferences so that there's only one frame per scene.
Then from the Scene manager you untick "Include in Animation" for the scenes you don't want to export.
Then you go File -> Export -> Animation and choose PNG or JPEG as the file output.

Thats something I've missed completely. Whenever I've wanted to render out jpgs before I've gone to export image as opposed to animation.

          Thankyou so much! πŸ˜„

Ill just add here as Im sure someone has already added for the wishlist...

a decent renderer - this would make the full price worth paying over the free version!

at the moment Im using IRender for night time scenes with lights, but something built in would be ideal!

Its now 2015 and SU version is 2016.
But there are still no lights !

But the light/shadow idea is there: its called sun.
Is there somebody who can clone this "sun part" as a extension ? So placing a light source and orient it like you orientate the sun.

              Best regards,

Adding rendering to the core of SketchUp goes against the basic principles of keeping SketchUp simple and light to appeal to the broadest range of users. They opened up the API and made it possible to have extensions to extend the tools. There are many rendering extensions available that work in SketchUp as well as many stand alone renders with exported extensions. So basically the feature already exists for the folks who need it and for those who don't, they aren't forced to have it.

                  Hello dave,

                  Thank for the fat reply.
I can follow your answer but SU does have materials which you have to manipulate too for a good result. Adding a light for indoor situations isn't making SU a full render program.

I don't see what materials have to do with lights.

And you can easily create the impression of multiple lights without out using a rendering application.
