[Plugin Idea] Deform Plugin
-
hear, hear!
-
I've just seen the 3dvia vids... it is FREAKISHLY similar to SU... almost like they studied SU and copied many of it's modeling tools... wonder if there's some sort of lawsuit already started over this...
the deform plugin looks fun.

.Why would there be lawsuits? Because SU finally has an direct competitor?

indeed, the similarities are stunning. they didn't even bother do rename the push/pull tool!
but I do have to say, they are progressing in a direction, many of was want SketchUp to go. so please Google, have a look at that piece of software and nick as many ideas as possible (they did it with SU themselves) -

Again, I don't see why they should? It'd be as if all the 3D applications that has a Loft tool should have a different name for it.
If applications didn't build upon existing software - only included the tools they invented themself - we'd have some pretty crippled software now. Obsessing about who did it first is of no interest really. Who does it best is.I really don't see why one would refer to it as stealing. More tools to choose from: more fun. The more the merrier I say.
B3D seem to still be a wee bit buggy - prone to crash. But I like what I see. It's photomatch is exactly what I've always been SU would have. And I like the amount of parametric abilities. If only it supported plugins via an easy scripting language...

Sketchup stoped in time about 5-6 years ago, and sometimes i, as a user, even feel i'm the bad guy for wanting it to evolve or at least allow me to do more than the previous version...

Z-brush is one of the few softwares that everytime I see it in action I think:
"I must be an idiot because I'm not using that software..."
-
holly crap!! the guys at pixologic have done it again!!
Extremly inovative new stuff. But we're talking about the software that won two years in row the same "best software award" in 3D (don't remember the where's the article and who gave the award) with the same version of the software without updates...
It seems they're always ahead of the competition... -
