In your shadows window select on ground for the shadows.

If you see a toilet in your dreams do not use it.

I've got this model with opening. In sketchup, the light comes right throught no problems, and no there isn't any glass in the openings. When I render, none of the shadows on the ground appear. I need help fast because I need to hand this in soon.

Thanks in advance for the help.

In V-Ray you need to place a ground plane first. What you see in SU isn't what V-Ray will render. If you want V-Ray to render the "Ground" shadows you can place an V-Ray Infinite plane.

btw, what VfSU version do you use?

I'm using sketchup 7 with V-ray for sketchup 7. I still can't seem to be able to make the light come through and hit the floor.

Can you post screenshot of your SU scene and your render?

Do you have the Sky map assigned to the GI and Background slots in the Environment section?

As of SR1.5 the V-Ray Sun/Sky is not on by default.

I putt a light in the sky which gives shadow in the building, so that is solved. Now i need to knwo how to soften the shadow thats hitting the floor.

Did you use an Omni light? If so; then you can set the Radius in the light's properties.

Though, a Sky map is easier to control IMO.

Like Tom said a screenshot or a posting of the model will help alot when people commenting on your problems.

Controlling the softness of the shadows of the sun can be done through the Sun Size parameter. You'd get to that through your sky settings in the Environment rollout
