Sorry if this has been posted here before. Thought I would share the info. Quite interesting.

I just downloaded it so I haven't had a chance to try it. Anyone have any experience with it?

      Good preview and tutorial

That's a cool video. That YouTube channel seems interesting as well. Nice find.
        Thanks for the link.

            Cool!
The lego one seems a bit slow though. As for the resulting shape of the laser scanner, they should use Whaat's polyreduce plugin 😄

              Hi Friends

I've done some tests using DAVID 3D scanner. It works pretty well, but you need quite a long time before getting
some affordable results. The most important as said in Systm sequence, is to have a really 90°angle "screen".
Then, learning MeshLab and DAVID Scanner is not time saver!
I get still difficulties for the "obj" files alignement and spend time to clean the scans

Here are some files I made :
I use an old laser red (IR Spectrometry) and a PHILIPS webcam (1.3 Mpx)

              MALAISE 😉

wow, that looks really awesome. I'm hooked now! I like projects like this. I also did one on making a whiteboard screen using a wii remote and that was also fun! 👍
just wondering what kinds of things you can scan with this.

I would love it if sketchup joined with videotrace! because that is so similar to scanning and yet you can have so much more control over the final model
