This does look interesting, and not a bad price point either. Have you had a chance to play with it?

not yet. it is on a list of apps i want to test... from the videos i gather that if you have some experience with photoshop it will be very easy to work with ligthwave. at least in terms of image edition it seems to do the same for a fraction of the price.

Looks interesting. Claims quite a few non-destructive actions.

trying it now, its fantastic! most better workflow than PS at least for non experts like me. much more intuative. the only thing i would like to see that i haven't found yet is magic wand and alpha masking. if they add those two things i'll buy two copies and throw PS in the garbage. 😄

i just love the drag with the mouse interactive feathering, the history, the original view button... very slick!

hmmm. its seems to only support .jpg and .tif, that could be a problem.

                  is it better than GIMP?

so far, GIMP is the most famous free substitute for Photoshop.

Depends on what kind of work you do. I don't see GIMP as a substitute for the stuff I do.
Though, this LightZone looks interesting. Lots of non-destructive actions.

Photoshop has quite a few non-destructive methods with smart-objects, smart-filters and adjustment layers.

Lightzone has been around for a while. It's a fairly innovating tool and also supports most RAW file format's.
