Doubt there will be since it's a licensing issue and not a technical issue.

I also doubt it would be done during a maintenance release (which this one would probably be). I wonder however if it has to do anything with the foreign language releases.

Hi everyone,
You are right. We had a bug with the website for about 6 hours yesterday that incorrectly reported an update was available when it was not.
Sorry you all ran into it. It should be fixed now, but let us know if you see anything that looks wrong.
Best regards,
Tricia

Thanks Tricia, that explains it. I was also wondering if the language versions are to be (or ha been) released.

Best regards,
TriciaSketchUcation users,
If you saw the upgrade dialog on Monday, it was a mistake. If you see it today, it is intended!
Please help yourself to SketchUp 7.0 Maintenance Release 1 (English only) at http://sketchup.google.com/intl/en/gsu7/download.html.
After upgrade, versions will read as 7.0.10247 (Win) and 7.0.10248 (Mac).Enjoy!

Well I have installed the upgrade. About 15 minutes of reading and computer time. However, please, someone spend some time correcting the tool bar locations problem. After a half hour to trying to arrange the tools bars, I finaly just gave up. I now have tool bars scattered all over the top of the screen.
Please, it cannot be that hard to correct this mess.
Anyway, thanks for the update. It would be nice if there were some indication on how this upgrade fixes or adds something to the older ver.
Again thanks, you and all the other team members for this program.
Now, start on the toolbar problem

Guys, please, stay on-topic. I moved and merged the "toolbar issue" posts with the respective one in the Wish List department.
-
since when does "fix a bug" become a "wish"?
i guess when you're wishing they would fix a bug.PS http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=17056

Yeah, I know it's licensed to Carmack, or someone. Still, you would think the brainiacs at Google could figure this one out. Or Google ponies up the license fee....like they did for v4 or v5.

I vaguely remember hearing that a possible fix had been found, but they would need to rewrite a large portion of code to implement it.

Dear All,
With reference to the latest update, it seems to want install the whole program again. Should one uninstall the existing version before downloading the new version, or will the new version install over the top? I currently have SU Pro Version 7.0.8657. Presumably, I should make a copy of my Plugins folder. Anything else I should think about?
Regards,
Bob -
Hello Bob,
The update should install on top of the existing one without any problem. The Plugins folder should also remain intact but in any case, you can make a backup of it.
-
Dear Gaieus,
Many thanks for that. I am always a bits suspicious of computers. The buggers go wrong just when you need them.
