      Hi everybody!
I have 2 small but annoying issues with SU7.
1/ I can't link .skp files to sketchup.exe (v7). The system tries to open with v6 on double-click within windows explorer (properties-open with-change-bla-bla-bla didn't help).
2/ What happened to .skp thumbnails in WinExplorer? It worked some time ago and now stopped (v6,v7).

P.S. BTW If someone of dev team reads this post:
Please add a favorites (windows favorites) button to all save, open, export, etc dialog windows. Please do it.
I have 40+ projects in local network and favorites button in ACAD for example does help a lot.

        Hi rv,

SU opens the skp files in the application (version) you used last. Save a file in SU 7, exit and see if double clicking on one launches 7 or 6.

As for your thumbnails - I have no idea so I can't help.

        Gai...

theres a file in your sketchup folder - thumbsup.dll - it must have been inadvertently unregistered - if u have any shell extension utility - eg filemenutools, you can reregister the dll(via explorers context menu) and your sketchup thumbnails will be restored. alternatively you can use regsrv32 ( though i dont know exactly how that's done)

these are guides on adding register dll/icx to your explorer context menu

Hi Tony! Thanks for advice but unfortunatly ThumbsUp.dll registering didn't help (tried both: filemenutools & 2nd link cure).
P.S. Uninstalling SU5 solved the first problem. )

you may be able to reenable the thumbnil using nirsoft shellexview. its a tool for tweaking the windows shell. its a tiny file. download it, run it, and broswe to thubnails. you'll see the "sketchup shell extension class". if its disabled, you can enable it from there.

              hope that works out.

              cheers.
