No lights when rendering?
-
All,
I have a basic sketchup model where all surfaces are defined as "matte" material. I want to insert a series of 50W spot lamps in order to do a rough lighting study, but when I tell the plugin to render, the resulting scene shows the interior lit by SU's daylight but no light comes from the lamps. It doesn't look at all like the lighting examples on the wiki, and I don't know where to go next. There is no difference whether I use the "Interior w/ sun" or the "Interior w/o sun" settings. I am not sure what to do to fix this. Any recommendations?
Thanks,

what does that mean ?
is there interior lights now working inside SketchUp, only for a few little few ?
or what is it about ? Aledit.-:
sorry everybody , i did not know this was an specific place for Render Plus Systems -
IRender works with most of the light fixtures in the SketchUp components libraries. In addition, it has a wizard to create additional floor lamps and table lamps, based on shade and base choices, and size parameters.
Also, you can use IRender to create light bulbs or spot lamps which can then be placed directly in the model, or placed in light fixture components.
Finally, you can define any face, group or component to act as either a light source, or a spot light source. (Spot lights have a beam angle and a field angle and a direction).
IRender is an add-on for SketchUp and support for IRender is provided here on the SUC Forum, and also on the AccuRender nXt Forum (nXt is the rendering engine used for IRender) ( http://nxt.accurender.com/ )

All,
Hi,
Per Al's response on the forums, here is my sketchup model. I've probably missed something essential in rendering; do you all have a user guide prepared, perhaps in a pdf format? Thanks!
Thanks,

The problem with this model is that you had turned the Ambient Light slider to 100%. This should have worked - but didn't. ( We will fix it. ) Slide it back to 50% or 90%. If you want to turn ambient light completely off, use the Ambient light radio box on the Sun/Sky tab.
Documentation
All of the documentation is on-line in our Wiki. We hope to create a PDF document sometime so it will be easy to print it out.
This one talks about lights:

Send a .SKP model to
