Anyone who visits the PPB may have seen this already!

This is a portfolio of visualisation works I put together for myself some times ago using PowerPoint. the unfortumate thing is that when viewed on older machines it tends to go a bit clunky on transitions and text generation.

I must say I found powerpoint fairly easy to work with - this was my first (well and only since) play with Powerpoint, it tokk about 5-6 hours to learn on the fly and put this together at the same time!

wow. this is one of the best powerpoint presentations I have ever seen. I liked everything about it - the slow pace and smooth transitions, the navigation buttons, that are not necessary to view the show, but give you advanced control, the relaxing music πŸ˜‰

and your renders are very impressive.

well done Richard, and thanks a lot for sharing

          Thanks a lot Plot!!!

I actually find the lay person feels it to be incredibly slow! They just want the action where you and I obviously want to view the design and vis work in more detail.

I must admit again this was my first play with powerpoint and was really impressed at the ease of compiling the animation. It is just a shame SWF format isn't exportable from PowerPoint as it really is so much more user friendly to use than flash!

Thanks again for checking it out and commenting plot!!!!

          Cheers, Richard

I believe there are converter programs to convert PowerPoint to flash.

That's a great portfolio Richard. Very professional looking. The renders are brilliant with a nice cool style and I even like the design of the architecture.

The only little niggle I have is the transition between the two pieces of music was a bit clunky, but thats hardly important and doesn't spoil a top star presentation. πŸ‘

Yes there are converters but then also there are the "Google docs" where you can upload your pps presentation and share it with the world. I'm afraid not all the bells and whistles are included in it (and as a true beta app, it does not support Mac platform yet afaik).

Also you can have a nice (flash) slideshow of your picasa web albums but that again does not have sound.

It was a pleasure to see (hear) this presentation, Richard, thanks for sharing!

I lost this old file and found it here (got to love the SCF!).

Does anyone know how one can open it (as its a slideshow) for editing?

If you have Powerpoint it should be editable. I can't remember how, as I haven't used any office things for years, but you might have to right click and Open it rather than double click, or something like that to get it open rather than as a slide show. I can open it for editing in Open Office no problem.

AH! I've just worked the problem - I didn't install power point on my PC when upgraded!

Seriously good Richard, liked the wood styles which were simple but impressive in getting the point across. What you will achieve a way down the road will be something to see. Please update when you get the time to impress and motivate us.

Thanks mate, but that is OLD - the first post was made in 2008. This was the first and last time I used power point, the reason for opening this doc was for my partner's use in substituting the content.

So sadly I probably wont be updating it mate! 😞

Frenchy, sadly mate I'm not sure it will. Last I heard Kevin was looking for someone to take over the technical aide of it. Such a shame as now with the global economy on the mend it would mean more projects would likely be posted.

Thanks mate, as I mentioned in the last post this is pretty old now! All the images are either rendered in Arlantis R beta, and a few in Maxwell's first beta. Rendering externally from SketchUp was at it's very infancy then.

Funny with so many years past since using PowerPoint to compile this, I'm beating my head as to how I did it, not working it out. Must have drunk way too much coffee that day!

Though it's nice to look back at some of my old architectural design works.
