Curve shape

SU doesnt like making curved faces automatically, so youve got to do it yourself. Your example seems to be a fairly simple one, so what i would suggest is deleting th entire shape, apart form on side, the push/pulling that side to get the completed shape.

If you turn on View > Hidden Geometry you'll find out why that curve didn't fill..it's not a single face, it's quite a few of them. Any mesh modeller like SU can only deal in flat surfaces, not curved ones. It has to approximate curves with a series of straight sections.
Remus was right to say the easiest thing was to cut it back to a single face and Push/Pull. The alternative would have meant drawing in all those individual lines that separate the segments on the curve, then smoothing them. -
OK, thanks for the helpful replies. I have another problem. I need to make 4 holes through a block. I make the holes and then extrude them through to the back face as I normaly do and the front face of the tube is not hollow. When I delete the circular face, it also deletes the whole of the shapes front face. How do I make the holes go right through the shape? In the picture I have pushed the circles from the front face which you can see and they are hollow, but the front circular things won't delete. Thanks

When you push-pull circle than just intersect with model.

Pagans suggestion is probably the easiest solution, although im not sure why the holes arent going straight through, as they should.
One possibility is that the front and rear face are very slightly misaligned, although i cant imagine how this would happne in this case.
Probably the best ting for me to say is to make sure you use the inference engine when push/pulling, it can help to sotp stuff going weird
Oh, and if you could post the model thatd be cool.

Thanks for taking the time to help I still can't get it to work so i will attach the model to this and you will see what i mean. If you could explain how you would go about fixing it so i can then do it myself and learn from it that would be great.

The problem was very simple. The circles on the outer face had not 'sunk in' and so the inner areas (contained by the circles) were not separated from the outer areas. In each case, I traced over a segment of the circle with the pencil tool and then deleted the face.

Slightly faster method is to select the circles and the face, right click->intersect with selected.
