[Plugin] Proper Animation V1.08 Beta(Updated 14/11/10)
-
I have just installed Proper Animation and I understand that it works with the Twilight render. But I can not seem to figure it out, would somebody be able to give some advice on how i can render the animation?

Hi Jason,
In Twilight, under the animation tab, you have to set Twilight to render animated objects as well (top-most pulldown menu I think).

Yes I have done that Gaieus. I also have the fps at 30. I have tried slowing down the transitions. but whan I render the animation is not there.

Indeed it works, see the video below.

This is rather a Twilight issue than that of the plugin itself. This is the topic about the video and the method:

Gaieus,
Great movie,
Imagine that combiend with linking to scheduling...
Let's see what I can do -
mates, I didn't read the entire replyes, but does this gem, works with v-ray? ( for sure no) but is there any way (maybe a tip or trick or another plugin..) to have renders using v-ray and this gem?

a question:
It seems to be impossible to add non-animation scenes?
If i don't set a position 8 and do set a position 9 then when selecting Scene 9 the position is not taken.
So if I understand correct all positions have to be set?Thx

Thank you for this!

Hello Moris,
Up until Proper animation. I have been limping getting along by erasing selected positions per any selected scene but it was a nightmare to set up.
Proper animation really offers a lot.
Am hitting a wall with Proper Animation in some respects though and I'd appreciate more details about proper animations operation in relation to sketchup's own quasi animation controls.- What is the relationship of it to sketchup's own animation controls: For example, does Proper animation override the other or is it a parallel function or a subset of it. (eg; scene transition time or delay times, or update scene versus your set position.
- Animation easing this refers to what appears to be the degree of acceleration or deceleration of the transition between scenes.
- Am trying to achieve a continuous smooth flow through the scenes without a distinct stop point on each scene. (Pls note too, that I am not trying to change directions between scenes in the attached animation of the express-local train concept). I can approach fluidity with your easing control but its still not a smooth transition between scenes. Sketchups "0" marker for scene delay versus your "-1" notation as the baseline leaves me guessing as to what is really the no-stop position at each scene. No subdivision of 1 is allowed and anything higher only delays it longer. What settings then, best assure fluidity ? and again, do we use Proper Animation's menu options and then ignore Sketchup's options or make them the same or ??
Proper Animation will be a great addition if we can understand the operational relationships/ heirarchy between it and Sketchup's inbuilt quasi animation controls.
Thanks, RStanley

Hi,
I have an skp with 349 scenes.
I'm just wondering if there is any way of scrolling down on the 'Scene Transition Times' window as I can only see the first 36...
Thanks!

OK, so I went through the whole process of creating the animation, exported it with Projection and built it with VirtualDub and all works fine, but as you can see from the video the hinges from the project come through the surfaces of the materials. How do I fix that so that the animation moves as it should?
Are we not allowed to embed .flv files? I tried this.

The rotation is a result of how SketchUp/Ruby interpolates the object's 'tween position. I'm not sure there is anything you can do about it without a re-write of proper animation.

try to put the axis in such way, to rotate around one. Then you will have to remake the animation, but I guess it will rotate closer to what you want.
-
Yeah relocating the components axis generally works for me, just make sure you get the red green and blue axis pointing in the right direction. If it acts weird then you have the wrong colour axis pointing the wrong way.

hi all,
I have done an animation using this plugin but have run into a problem. When I get to the 9th scene the movement changes from fluid to suddenly moving to the next position. I have attached the model so if you can help that would be really appreciated!
EDIT: No worry's I have solved my problem now...

Moris,
Thanks for this wonderful plugin. I wanted to let you know that I used this plugin to create two short clips and uploaded them to YouTube, here:
http://youtu.be/jiC3IhKN-B4
http://youtu.be/Doe6pnoGUhgI used Whaat's "Smooth Step Animation" to export the scenes in still images, than used "VirtualDub" to stitch them together.
Best regard.

I was able to render the proper animation with vray...
