it's simple, in Photoshop , put colors on the volumes and then use the product,darken,color burn etc stuff

even if the style is recognisable my Blender's works are very different than my sketchup ones
I don't know which ones I prefer ..whan I use Blender i prefer the blender ones , when I use Sketchup I prefer the Sketchup ones

no freezing, but that apple is real nice I would love to see you render it! Would you be able to explain maybe through pictures how you created the 'leaf' n top of the apple. I know how I would do it but would be incredibly time consuming just wondering how you achieved it?

well , first you draw a form that will be the half of the leaf (a rectangle on my example), then you draw lines on it
then you use the offset tool on all the faces
then you erase the lines you draw at first , and the faces created with the offset
you select it and make a mirror to have the complete leaf. Then you use the "radial bending by selection of plane and angle "
not very pretty on this example because there are not enough faces but you get the idea
and that's it !
it took me a day to do it
