      hi guys

      i have a problem regarding of very complex model in Sketch up,
      is there is a proxy in SU like Max? so that when i duplicate
      a model it minimized the render time in Vray like what we do in
      3d Max. hope you reply as soon as posible

        There's components (instances). Right click on an object, and select "make instance" from the context menu.

        I don't think Vray 4 SU supports instances, though.

          No, VrayforSU doesn't support that.
          I asked about this on the Asgvis forum, but they didn't give a satisfying answer on when they would implement it.

          The way you can link a .vrmesh in 3dsMax should be a possibility in Sketchup as well.
          For the moment only Indigo, Maxwell and Fry support proxies/instancing from within SU.

            And it sucks, if only V-ray would support it... It would literally save me hours ^^

              I agree.
              Currently I need to polyshrink Xfrog trees to the point the leaves are starting to float in mid air....and even then only a couple trees can be placed or SU crashes.

                  Is that trees you've generated yourself? Or the ones from their DVD collection?
