POLL: Would you attend a SketchUcation 3D Basecamp EU?
-
How about a 3D Basecamp in Jerusalem incorporating a tour of the Holy Land?
Now that could be an uplifting experience on more than one level.
I have a number of contacts in the Isreli tourism field. -
In Europe? Yes, but where? Brugge/Bruges? La Defence a Paris? Stockholm? Barcelona?... Then yes, Jerusalem... Johannesburg? Sydney? Singapore, Hong Kong? Back to Mountain View? I'll do all of the above... (if possiblbe).
-
If we are all willing to travel some distance to get together why not make the location something spectacular like a tropical island destination where we not only could get together but also soak up some much needed sun that our LCD monitors has failed to provide and do some water activities and all.
-
As nice as that would be solo, id much prefer to have it in europe jsut for the travel costs. im a poor student and it'll be hard enough trying to get money together for a euro basecamp, let alone a tropical extravagansa.
-
As wmanning says, in Europe yes, but it depends where, and it actually has to be in Europe. I assume there is a clue in the thread title.
Somewhere central and fairly inexpensive would be perfect. Belgium/Netherlands/France/Italy all good. Outside Europe, no. I have nothing against other places, it's just the travel costs.
-
I agree with Bigstick if in Europe somewhere central with good air connections and
reasonable prices. This is a good starting point , the next step would be to determine
the possible time and to offer possible locations and I would suggest a Vote in order
to find the solution that suits the majority .
Count me in . -
why not poll a number of locations around europe to see the distrubution as well?
(sicily for me )
-
tks Coen this is a great idea, i agree we should make a poll for the destination also.
My preferences go for central or southern Europe sun sun and more sun!! -
It should not be the last time, so I prefer Netherland because it is much easier for Coen to organize the first shot. Around him ( England, Belgium, France, Germany ) are many helpers. With the success the sun comes after
-
well..if it's ever in london - you can count on me with all sorts of issues.

Hello Coen
do you check that not all Europeans are European Citizens?
bertu

This is open to Europeans, Africans, Americans, even Australians
This is for all people who love SketchUp -

What about it?
What has citizenship to do with attending the sketchUcation basecamp?

Nothing. It could (should) read like "I live in Europe" or something. Surely Coen did not mean EU citizens. If Urgen needs an invite letter for a visa (I don't know if he needs one), I will gladly write one if the location will be inside the EU (I would like to make sure he participates). But I could imagine Dubrovnik as well (ah, Dubrovnik!) - then Mateo will write the invite letter.
Good that we are so international - regardless of political borders!
-
Thanks Csaba,
I dont have anything against that , quite the contrary , I just didnt want to be the
first one to suggest it. I am ready to make the effort .
By the way I dont mind comming to Pecz either.
Whatever the decission I agree that it would be an advantage for one of us moderators to be a host. -
good idea,Coen.
it is indeed surprising that less than 2% of the SketchUcation members voted yet.
a Global PM may speed up things a bit
-
Shouldn't the location follow the largest number or highest concencentration of users?

Si vous ne speakez pas english, vous êtes des connards a priori.
Are you protesting against the fact that "EU Basecamp" will probably have English as it's lingua franca? If so: what do you suggest? It might be somewhat impractical to opt for French (or German, Italian, Dutch ...).
Esperanto then?

Hungarian. (Although I doubt that I could talk about SU in Hungarian myself! )
