      Thx for this tutRégis.

Here is one more way to put in our pocket in order to achieve the difficult work of drawing curves and organic shapes with SketchUp.

      I have learned with it.

      • How can we use two curving guide lines in order to draw something like an organic shape..
      • How can we use Scale Tool(great enhancement possibilities depending with the choice of the lines or surfaces we select to be scale) in combination with Pushpull Tool.

../ Well, in place of your music backline sound, i would like very much some here and there vocal explanations. (In telling that, i know how it's difficult for a french like me with a standard aproximative english knowledge to speak, even a little, without any chance being ridiculous) so: "vas pour la musique"...

          Hi Simon

I'm planing to make another video with explanations and i'm sure it will be in French cause i'm a very bad English Speaker.
I've just an old English school knowledge.

          Thanks for your comment.

          Regards

Like i said: so am i!
(Well this debate should take place in a standalone topic)
But!-.-, Even if i can understand that people with not a word in english they should take great advantage dealing with SCF in there own country section, i am to make the effort (understand and write) to stay in the English section. Because if something important is given in the country section, it is lost for the overall community. Except in doing as you did: doubling each topic in English. "un peu lourd non?"

I was asking myself how you made those guide lines. And how you choose the first shape and its start point.
            Perhaps something like that?

              Well

First thing you have to know : The begining is here (sorry it's a French topic)

I know there is english guys coming on the french forum sometimes like some frznch guys go on this forum too.

If I do a video tut, I post it on the french forum cause I'm french but if I want more people to see it I post here too.

How I draw lines : Like you 🤣 (I'm joking)
Lot of ways to draw lines, the most important IMO is to have the end of each segments on the exact axe (green or red) if you want to have the scale tool with only 9 vontrol points. It's more easy to use it.

              The starting shape:
IMO always where I have lot of space to start, more easy than a little shape like the end of the object.

A little tut to draw guide lines.
              Here I use Bezier_spline.rb and extrudelines_tool.rb.
1st scene: I draw the line guide with polyline tool from bezier_spline
2nd scene: I extrude the line on the blue axe and the red axe and I draw a straight line to have the same number of segments like the starting curve
3rd scene; I just keep my first curve and the straight and I move on the blue axe each end of segment to have a new curve
4th scene: I'm sure all segment's end of each curves are corresponding on the red axe and the bkue axe.

              Drawing lines.skp

              Regards

Thanks, Régis for these important precisions.

I think I have understood the mechanism.

-Remark: video + .skp = really good pack
-subsidiary question: what means IMO (important thing to keep in mind for sure. Google find for me:International Meteor Organization waouu!!
-A word about my english speaking comes to me: "talking english like a spanish cow" Hi!

                ;-)slb

IMO I mean: In My Opinion

                  OK simon
Looking at the first jpeg and exactely that I don't want to have with the scale tool so it's why I take care with my curves and don't forget to gtoup them before starting pusgpulling your start shape.

                  have fun

A new video is coming soon on another way to model organic form ( take a look at my avatar, it's my first try with this technique)

                  Regards
                  Régis
