So, I've drawn out the floor plan of a building, and am using that to make my walls using push/pull. Once I got the walls to the right heights, I covered the top using the rectangle tool. The problem is that I have my roof, but you can see the floor plan from the first floor drawn on it because of the walls! How can I get rid of those lines without destroying the walls and their thicknesses?

      Thanks!

If you amke the flooraplan a group and then delete that group it wont affect the walls. You can then just replace the flooraplan with a rectangle for a base.

I bet you'll find the following tutorials useful.

Kriscidious's tutorials are good; and ultimately you will need some very good model organization: Make your floor plan a component. What you include in that component depends on the flexibility you want/need. You can Copy that floor plan component off to the side and edit it, after your edits are finished, erase it, your plan in the house will be changed as long as you didn't select "make unique". there are other ways too but this technique is consistent for me.
