I have noticed for quite some time now a visual oddity when in x-ray mode.
Look at the pictures for example. These are two faces 1/8" apart and front-facing away from each other.

The first two are showing hidden lines (top & bottom views), the second two are not showing hidden lines (also top and bottom views). The last 2 images show xray mode.

Notice how some of the squares are projecting a different shade, almost like a face is reversed. Clearly by the first images this is not the case however.

I am not looking for any solution as I don't need one. I just thought it curious.

I've experienced this before as well, it doesn't seem to influence the work though.

There is a slider for transparency quality on styles/faces, try moving it between faster and nicer. Maybe this will make a difference

            hey Boofredlay,
could you upload the file for me? I would really much like to experiment with it (I wasnt able to create a model that shows this strange effect yet).

Yes, I can confirm - I myself have also experienced such visual "effect" many times.

I also have had this happen but as said earlier, this will have no effect (that I have found) to the final product. Even during rendering the skylights render fine.

Love the fact that some HATE my avatar.....
