Impressive, but why was it necessary -- cold ocean, sharks?

mmmmmm, does seem slightly ironic spending vast sums of money for something that is not very different (if not better), free and readily available. I reckon theyve got to much money to spend, personally.

At least they could have filled it with fresh water but I guess it was too expensive 😒
To their credit however, my wife refuses to swim in the ocean or any lake. She is deathly afraid of any "swimmies" brushing up against her. So for people like her it is an ideal vacation spot.

Funny story about that, one summer we went to my company party on the lake and I took her out on the Jet Ski. I managed to dump us in the milfoil.

While she was in the water she kept screaming: "This was not supposed to happen!"
          Ahhh, good times. 😆
She still will not let me live it down.

Here's a article about the pool that has some other facts. I had seen other info about it. One thing I recall from the other readings was the high costs reported were for the entire developments, Condo hotels + all infrastructure + the pool. The water in the pool is cleaned using an ionization process that temporarily turns some of the salt in the water to chlorine - it isn't just raw seawater. The technology used is scalable and even bigger pools are possible.

I imagine the complete development markets the pool as a safe controlled-access environment. In many countries ocean-front beaches can not be privately owned. Anyone can use the beach - including people who pray upon vacationers. I don't know if that's the case with this big pool but I suspect having such a big private pool is the major selling point for most buying the vacation condos.

The big pool also features an underwater tunnel to the real beach and it has an aquarium feature housed in that glass pyramid.
            Regards, Ross

Do they drain it when kids poop in it?

Here's a pool that NEEDS scalability...it could only be in Japan. 😆

I can't stand being in my kitchen when someone else comes in even my wife...I would suffocate to death in a place like that...man I need a breath of fresh air just watching it.
