does anyone have any suggestions on good and easy-to-use screen capture apps to do things like a walkthrough or flyover? this question came to my mind when i found the gadget called 3D Navigator (by 3D Connexion), a kind of mouse/joystick created to help this kind of thing.

and, by the way, has anyone tested the 3D Navigator?

      regards.

        Edson,

I use Avi Screen Classic (freeware) but I'm not sure if it works on Mac, too (you're on Mac, right?)
        Here's the link: http://www.bobyte.com/AviScreen/index.asp

So far it has worked quite well with me.

          Edson,
I have asked Modelhead this question in the web building thread we are both in. He plans to do a teach on that.
          Cheers

            Edson,
Camtasia seems to be the application of choice for a lot of screen capture videos.

            It's quite cheap too.

I've got a Space Navigator...a few of us have. I tend not to use it for the purpose for which it's intended (navigating in SU while actually drawing stuff) because my left hand is otherwise engaged on the Shift and Ctrl keys, but with a bit of practice it gives nice fluid navigation in SU and other applications such as Google Earth.

              Hi Edson,

You might have a look at http://www.pure-mac.com/screen.html
There are quite a few programs that might fit the
              bill.

Like Alan I don't use the 3D Navigator for SketchUp.
It works so well with the scroll wheel mouse that
its hard to beat this setup. I do find it very good
              with Cheetah though !

              Mike

My first source for Mac software is always http://macupdate.com/ You can set your choice to only see freeware or everything and the search function is reasonable. http://www.macupdate.com/search.php?arc ... &os=macosx links to a search for 'screen capture'.

Hope this helps the Mac folk.

thanks, mike and kelly. i'll take some time to consider the many alternatives in both sites.

                    cheers.
