I downloaded some zipped materials for vray, than i extracted them to
      C:\Program Files\ASGvis\Materials
I got 2 pictures and one vismat file from each zipped file.
Than i went to sketchup and rendered some model with materials, but they are all black, no materail 😒
Anybody know what should i do?

      Thanks!

I'm not a Vray user, but I think the answer may be here: http://asgvis.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=90&topic=3068.0

Go through all the layers of the material.
When you see a big M, click on it
If it's a bitmap material, click on the M in the Bitmap group,
a file dialog should now appear
              select the appropriate bitmap file

Also, the material preview isn't always that reliable to the actual result. Try to render and see if it works.

Note: in most cases you need to map the texture in SketchUp in order to get the size and orientation correct.

                  Guys,
                  I have the same problem.

I can't understand how I can use .vismat files.

I explain my steps and my problem:

                  1. i built a wall
                  2. i downloaded a material from the site called "brick-wall_red" ( a .zip file where there are 2 .png files and 1 .vismat file.)
                  3. i create a new material in sketchup meterial editor using one of these .png (one of these shows the red brick and the other grey brick and i chose the first one). so from the zipped folder i choose one.png file.
                  4. i set everything in terms of scale and proportion and it is fine.the name of the new material is "brick red"
                  5. right click and i linked the material in vray.
                  6. now in vray editor i have "linked_brick red"
                  7. now on in bump i link the other .png
                    8.i have the material "brick-wall_red"

i don't think it is the best way.
                  it is too weird.

I have read also that when you link the material in vray material editor (my step 6) then right click on the linked material, "import" and there you can put the .vismat file.
I have tried but I see everything grey.

                  any idea to help me??

                  thank you very much.

                  stef.
