is there a way to duplicate an object besides move/copy? i mean something like a shortcut that would create a copy of something.

        Edson,

You can already copy two different ways using shortcuts:

        1. to make a copy on the spot, for instant use, so ready to move: select(*), hit M then Ctrl, grab (click) the point to be moved to and move to target.
        2. to make a copy to memory, for instant or later use, ready to paste (or paste in place, for instance in a different level): select(*) hold down Ctrl while typing C (so Ctrl+C) (or Ctrl+Insert), now use the copy the way you want: paste or paste in place. The latter only makes sense in a different level or in a different model or after having edited the original before 'paste in place'.

(*) obviously you need to select first

          gai and dan,

i apologise for my moment of stupidity. of course i know the move/copy sequence but somehow i totally forgot the control+C way.

what i was probably after is something like there is in vectorworks: control+D duplicates the object and leaves it on the same spot. then you can move it by a specific distante through a dialog box. but one can do basically the same with move/copy.

          sorry and thanks.
