thanks, csaba, for making the skippy i should have made (and did not from lazyness (50%) + involvement in a design competition for a large building in brasilia (50% more).

i had a hunch it would be easier with follow me.

      cheers.

            Well, good then.

Although you could get it to work somehow because it is generally useful (often the Push/Pull tool just does not want to go through some geometry).

Without this forum I would have been STUCK!
That worked great and I'm very pleased with Sketchup. It is a remarkable piece of software. You can draw things much faster than I can in CAD. And its a 3D model. Unreal!

              Thanks again!

I still never got the first solution to work.

I think looking at the explanations, the reason you probably did not get the first method to work was the Intersection.
When you grouped the half of the model and then open the group to push/pull through the other piece. You then select that group, right click and explode.
Next step you select the whole model, right click, Intersect/Intersect with Model.
You can then delete the excess which will give you the desired result.

That said, the follow me procedure you have already completed is far easier πŸ˜„

check out Debut , it's better tahn autoscreenrecorder purchasable version and it's free. (when installing it will ask you if you want to install any other program, they're all trial versions but "Prism" wich is free and is a good video format converter).

On the original model, that 'stubborn' face would have pushed through if you used Push/Pull+Ctrl (PC).

I was just able to get back on the PC and play with this some more.
                                        I have a new problem...
Just so you know this is a leg for furniture.
I can make the leg by hand, but want to share it with others online.

I have the profile that I want to push to the back side on both faces of the model.

Can someone explain the process to accomplish this?
Should I push/pull the curved profile back before I create the cove on the 2 faces that everyone has shown?

All the suggestions have been very helpful! And I have learned allot with this excercise.

BTW I have attached an actual picture of the leg that I'm trying to model.

                                        TIA

                                        Nate

                                          Hi Nate,

Have a look at Gidon's "Cabriole leg" tutorial in this thread to get some ideas.
This leg of yours have some similarities and you can easily adapt the workflow.
