At the risk of making a fool out of myself....

I have been using SU since Version 2 and did not ever open the options dialog. Thanks.
-
I wouldn't actually consider myself a "seasoned user," but it's happened to me too and so that options button is great to know about. Thanks!

Thanks for your support I still really can't believe I never noticed that!

Discovery is a wonderful thing! I support all forms of discovery!
It's funny...that's one of the difficult things with a job in software testing...breaking out of a routine and staying in a state of constant discovery. This is why I truly love the incredible connection I have with all of you! You guys help me find new paths of discovery everyday, and it's the spirit of sharing that allows this!
So...thanks for sharing!
Cheers,

i would not call myself seasoned, but i have played around with SU for a quite intense while. however, the only thing i did when opening the options box at dwg import was to fix the scale and tell it to preserve drawing origin.
so do not be ashamed about it. i keep asking dumb questions to this board and people have always helped me with my troubles.
which box exactly did you check in order to avoid triangulation? merge coplanar faces, right?
-
I checked them ALL just in case!! LOL
-
Yes, Edson. Merge Coplaner will de-triangulate the imported geometry.
Model Units is another one to help preserve the proper scale. Make sure you scroll the tiny scroll bar in the Scale/Units: drop-down menu.
We're looking into the UI for these areas....for more easy discovery.
Cheers,
