Different colour of the same component?

A curious phenomemnon happened to me.
There are five of us in a relatively small office (I mean for so many people) and they even want to seat a 6th one in here.
So I started to play around and model our office in SU to be able to find the best way for this (obviously no-one wants to sit with his/her back to the door - it's just like in a pub... ) I don't really pay attention to the sdetails for this really will be just a model for us to move desks/chairs here and there (they are even componets now together with the minimum distance we need behind them). I even locked my component because I don't want to move anywhere.Anyway, the funny thing is that I use the same "door" component all over the place (I practically just copy/moved it to create the furniture so not even inserted each instance). Yet when I go X-Ray mode, about half of the components have somewhat different colour (see attached image)
The component was painted within its context and the back faces are also painted.
Here is the skippy, too. http://www.gaieus.hu/su/skps/Office.skpI'm curious what you guys come up with.

I exploded the "group" that contained all the door components to see if that made a difference. It did not.
I sampled the materials to confirm that they were all the same. They were. I turned shadows on and off, to no effect. I reversed faces just in case. Nothing.
I don't know. But there is something else that is weird. Hos is it that the top door components are all "door" and so are the bottom ones ( checked in Outliner) but the heights are different?: 100cm versus 180 cm How is it that when I brind in one of the door components from the component browser it is a differenct width than any of the ones already in the model. Hmmm?sorgesu

That's because I started with the other cabinet on the other side of the room and later I just resized the already inserted/copy-moved components from outside of their context (less geometry and there is nothing to "distort" in such a very plain component that is actually just a box )
Well, thanks anyway for looking into it (and actually it's not a big deal to me for the reason I described above - no presentation will be made)

But Gai, it still doesn't make sense. Everything about a component is supposed to be consistent. If you change anything, even the height, It changes in all of them unless you 'make unique" in which case it will be calleda unique name: door#1. That is not the case with your doors. They all have the same name but they are different. I don't get it.

Gai,
It's a function of your display setting - set transparency quality to "nicer" (rather than "faster") to fix the problem.pmiller

That is weird. I noticed when all the doors were moved away from the black cabinet, they appeared the same. I also noticed that when copying the "darker" doors they turned lighter. When copying the components to another file, I couldn't recreate teh same effect. I did create my own door component and it appeared even lighter then the other two. Then I copied the black cabinet to another file, deleted it from the original, and reloaded it; all the doors appeared the same.

Hi Susan, you're thinking of editing the component group and resizing everything in edit mode. All he did was select the component and then scale component as a single entity. If you right click on one, you can select "reset scale" and that will clear all scale changes made to a single component and restore it to its original state. Notice also:
Scale Definition
The Scale Definition menu item applies any scaling operations, to the currently selected component, to the component definition in the Component Browser. That will take the current scale attributes and apply it to the component. It's a handy feature.

Here's a fix BUT don't ask why... I stumbled upon it. Edit the Block that contains the doors. Select the doors and make a Group of them... and they'll all turn the same lighter colour. Explode the Group and they'll stay fixed... BUT strangely if you undo right back to before you did anything at all the colour stays fixed !

There are definately a few ghosts in the SketchUp code.......

This is definitely growing to some really interesting thing - thak you all - and fortunately not "for money"!
TIG: I tried that (thanks) but now I don't really have a "problem" but just a "curious phenomenon" (is this a proper term in English though?) that I'd like to understand. I'm already starting to enjoy the thread (actually that's what my first intention was... )
So again, thanks for all looking into it!
