@jo-ke said in Playing arround with Sketchup diffusion:

"render this base image without changing any detail or moving features etc. Ultra realistic with neutral light"

The examples a bit of a revelation to me.
      Thanks for sharing the prompt.

That nailed it. Did you prompt for the Palm Trees? I heard Nano Banana was pretty good. This has none of the issues your normally get with AI image generation. In particular the windows on buildings.

this AI is by far the best I've seen.

                this took me one minute:

                Promt:
"turn this sketch of a tramway into a photorealistic atmosphearic image with natural light and reflections on surface, no outlines, tramway driving on rails in the city of Mannheim, sunny waeather, do not change geometrie of the tram"

Sketchup diffusion seems to be so old fashioned. Google is the absolute winner!

The rate of improvement is staggering. Would like to see the heat generated by the AI infrastructure utilised better.

I am trying the new version of sketchup diffusion

what should I say. It is definitly not there, where it could be.

I made a model of my house in SU:

                        su-raw-weisenheim001.jpg

this is the result of the new Sketchup diffusion after 5 mintues:

                        su-diff-weisenheim002.png

and this is the result in Nano Banana after 2 minutes:

                        su-nano-Generated Image September 26, 2025 - 10_19AM.png

Nano Banano ist more acurat regarding geometrie , colors and details.

adding grapes to the house in just 5 minutes in Nano Banana:

and here are some real photos:

I have to agree, some folk have great results but frankly it is a whole 'nuther story and tbh, not one I want a part in and the loss of skill leading to another lost skillset is quite unsettling. I suppose that is the definition of progress. As long as we do not evolve into cabbage patch folk from the outer limits. Shades of this? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0244290/

When I am working, i need a result. Sometimes rendering gives me a better result, sometimes AI and in many cases the combination of both.
In the end the quality of my work is much better than last year. Time changes and we have to go with it. I love the new possibilities and I like to push them to the limit.

Yes, times are changing, and I have little time for the changes. However you need to pick your fights, and not learning it as a protest would be a mistake. The AI changes to workflow are absolutely inevitable undeniably and this is just the beginning. When reliable Quantum computers mature it will be another leap if it does not kill us first
