      Re: [Plugin] Flatten Vertices v1.1

      Dear all,

I would like to see a handy but missing tool that can flatten a surface (or just move every vertex of that surface to specified face / intersection with that face.

There are plugins to flatten to Z=0 and plugins that estimate mean normal / average surface, but there seems to be no plugin in which user specifies / clicks a single face (triangle) and flattened surface conforms to that plane.

That would be super usefull i.e. with rectifying models that are draped on surface (i.e. alleyways/roads) that you know that should be flat, bu they should have specified slope, in opposition to just Z=0 or any average of that surface.

It also seams pretty easy to develop, as plugin would simply move each surface vertex to Z bv such value to intersect with that plane based on Sketchup inferencing engine (I assume).

You can always go to a top view, with camera in parallel view (flat) and then export to a 2D dwg and then import that dwg back into SU. Not perfect but it can work at times.

          Hi,
Maybe one of my projection tools will do what you are asking for:

          [https://extensions.sketchup.com/extension/8f66e284-c0e3-45a9-be6e-e86911a3cf5e/projections-tools](link url)
(an old version is on the plugin store but the latest in on the extensions warehouse)

Click on the second icon (starting from left) to project a face perpendicularly on another face plane.
          Hope this helps,

          DB
