Does anyone know of a good source for free windows & doors other than the 3D warehouse (which I no longer have access to)?

You can still get components from the 3D Warehouse via your internet browser.

thanks Dave, I was not aware that I could do that through my browser. πŸ‘

Does anyone know anything about the Instant Doors and Windows plugin/facility and where to find it?

You can download the Collada version of the components via your browser and then import the included .dae file into Sketchup. Or you could download the newer .skp version and use an extension called Eneroth Open Newer Version from the Extension Warehouse.

As to your other question: https://valiarchitects.com/ But you asked for free.

Once again, thanks Dave for your response.

I think I found the plugin I was asking about here. Again wondering if anyone has used it. I have seen that there are several videos about it available. Just wondering how well it really works before I go after it.

Have you looked at the Marvin Windows collection at 3D Warehouse. They're pretty good and some of them are dynamic.

Edit: Oops. Just saw you no longer have access to 3D Warehouse.

There's Flex Tools which is really good but that's $108/year. Those are dynamic. I used Instant Architect windows before and they're pretty good but they're not dynamic. Cheaper though. I started out by making windows and doors.

Well I just noticed the following: It supports SU 8, 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016. so I do not think it is going to work with SU 2020 or 2019. Just wondering if anyone else has tried it or has a suggestion for an alternative. I also noticed (way down in the dialog) that there is also a fee for the plugin (not that much though).

Again, any feedback is appreciated. πŸ˜„

ntxdave, I’ve been able to download SU files direct from the Marvin Windows website. Last bunch I downloaded were all dynamic components.

As of today, I can no longer download files from the 3D warehouse in 2020 format. I now have to download dae files and convert them. 😞
